Mumbai, July 5, 2026: Bollywood star Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt are set to marry in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday, marking a new chapter in a relationship that traces its roots back nearly 25 years. The ceremony is expected to be held at Khan’s Bandra residence in the presence of family members and close friends.
According to reports, the couple first met in Bengaluru about 25 years ago but eventually lost touch as their lives moved in different directions. They reconnected in mid-2023 through a member of Khan’s family, and their renewed friendship gradually developed into a romantic relationship.
Khan publicly introduced Spratt to the media around his 60th birthday celebrations in 2025. Speaking about their relationship at the time, the actor said the two had met again unexpectedly, remained in contact and allowed their relationship to develop naturally.
The couple had reportedly been dating for around 18 months before making their relationship public. Since then, Spratt has accompanied Khan at several public events and is reported to have developed a close relationship with members of his family.
Intimate Wedding With Family and Close Friends
The wedding celebration is expected to remain a private affair, with reports suggesting a guest list of approximately 100 to 150 people.
The couple are also expected to formally register their marriage under the Special Marriage Act. Family members, their children and a select group of friends from the film industry are reportedly expected to attend the celebrations.
Filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker and Rajkumar Santoshi, both longtime associates of Khan, are among the names reportedly expected on the guest list.
The couple are said to have personally selected their favourite dishes for the wedding menu and taken an active interest in preparations for the ceremony.
A Relationship Supported by Family
Khan has previously spoken about his family’s acceptance of his relationship with Spratt. Reports have said that his children and former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, have been supportive of the relationship.
Khan was married to Reena Dutta from 1986 until their divorce in 2002. They have two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. The former couple, who have a son, Azad Rao Khan, announced their separation in 2021.
Spratt is also a mother from a previous marriage.
For Khan and Spratt, the wedding marks the culmination of a relationship shaped by an early meeting, years apart and an unexpected reunion. Their intimate Mumbai ceremony brings their decades-long connection into a new phase, with the couple choosing to celebrate the occasion among those closest to them.
